This type 35B Bugatti was restored by Competition Motors, Ltd. In its first event appearance at Leguna Seca Raceway the weekend of August 15 - 17, 2003, the driver won his race on Saturday and placed second on Sunday. The following weekend the United States Bugatti Grand Prix was held as part of the Monterey Historic Races. Against a field of 42 Bugattis from England, France, Italy, New Zealand and Australia as well as the United states, the driver pulled away from the rest of the field and easily won overall.
